The Imperial Gardens in Springtime

Right about now, the plum and cherry blossom trees begin to open for a dazzling show and one of the best places to view it is the Imperial Garden in Tokyo.

Our first full day was spent wandering the gardens in the heart of this huge city and drinking in the first few blossoms of the season. The grounds were reasonably uncrowded but in about a week it will be packed shoulder to shoulder with tourists from around the world arriving for the blossoms.
